Thank you for assisting me over at RB (at least I think its you). Ryūlóng 08:08, 11 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yep, that's me. No problem at all. In fact, should I copy my post into the OO talk page? Perhaps centering everyone on the true issue will allow for some conversation that isn't full of constant arguing. Arrow 08:15, 11 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
It would be good if you copied your post at RB over to the OO talk. It would clear a lot of things up, and get the RB monkeys off my back (sorry that I did not reply earlier, I usually get replies on my talk page). Ryūlóng 09:27, 11 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps you can chime in at Talk:Power Rangers: Mystic Force, as well, to at least contribute to the discussion. Ryūlóng 03:27, 12 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re: Voice actors edit

The article I'm refering to in Game Informer is titled "Behind the Mic" (Issue 161, Sept 2006 pg. 18). It features Jennifer Hale and another voice actor (Cam Clarke). A box in the middle of the page lists "notable game roles" and the Metroid Prime series is listed saying that she did voice Samus Aran in those games. I'm also going to request a complete list of her works from her website if this isn't proof enough. Hopefully it'll have what I'm after. -SaturnYoshi 00:13, 10 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

I wasn't sure if that combo did exist until I watched the episode again and you were right no shovel and crane combo sorry. Ok since you pointed it never appeared in Boukenger as well then ok I will not add it. The only reason I assumed that combo was in OO and Boukenger because of the shovel and crane being called but were damaged before they could merge with Daibouken/DriveMax Megazord. Again sorry for the confusion I cause. RedLifeguardRanger 04:34, 6 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

DC Meetup notice edit

Greetings. There is going to be a Washington DC Wikipedia meetup on next Saturday, July 21st at 5pm in DC. Since you are listed in Category:Wikipedians_in_Maryland, I thought I'd invite you to come. I'm sorry about the short notice for the meeting. Hopefully we'll do somewhat better in that regard next time. If you can't come but want to make sure that you are informed of future meetings be sure to list yourself under "but let me know about future events", and if you don't want to get any future direct notices \(like this one\), you can list yourself under "I'm not interested in attending any others either" on the DC meetup page.--Gmaxwell 00:28, 15 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I can't make out the last sentence of what you wrote when you replaced my editing in the Aurora Units article. If I don't understand it, then others will have problems as well. "That's really unnessacary" edit

I personally don't think that my addition to the MP: 3 Article was "unnessacary". It is, at least in my opinion, a milestone. Now, I'm not readding it unless we resolve it (and agree, not like I would if we decide otherwise) but maybe we need a third opinion or something. --Jump! Slash! Dash! Ouch! Super Mario SonicBOOM! 16:28, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

The redesign marked a change to a pure out of 10 rating style. On that notion, you could mention that Super Mario Sunshine could be given a milestone because it was one of several that got a 5/5. MP: 3 was, like I said, the first one to get a perfect ten under the new scale. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mario Sonicboom (talkcontribs) 19:14, 27 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Playable Characters in Brawl edit

Who has a good chance for being in Brawl Princess Daisy (Mario Series), Amy Rose (Sonic The Hedgehog Series) or Lilina from the Fire Emblem Series? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.162.108.99 (talkcontribs)

None of them, in my opinion. Daisy will likely just be a Peach alt-color like in Melee; Lyn was an assist trophy, so the chances of any FE character besides Ike (or maybe Marth and Roy) are slim to none; and if any other Sonic character appears, it will likely be Tails or Knuckles on an outside chance.
By the way, the official article for Brawl, as well as its FAQ in the talk page, are not places to add your ideas on who will be in it. Those pages are encyclopedic entries with factual information. If you'd like to discuss who you think would be in the game, it would be better to do so on your own talk page or on a forum not related to Wikipedia. Arrowned 22:06, 15 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re: List of Japanese N64 games edit

Sorry for the inconvenience, I also didn't know if I should make this talk or add it to the one above, because you might not expect more to be added above and might miss it. Before I sent the above message I searched for Contributors that had made changes to listing that had Japanese video games, mostly Famicom, Super Famicom, N64 and a few others like Doraemon. I was able to find that you where one of those who contributed to Famicom list.

  • 03:27, 27 June 2007 (hist) (diff) List of Famicom games‎ (Changing Zyuranger link per redirect.)

I figured if a person contributed to the list either for the better or deleting something that they didn't like at least they'd have a opinion about how the games on the Japanese pages where listed, I still thing the table version is the best, but also they might be familiar with Japanese listings and spot any mistakes in spelling and in general set up of the page, as well as telling if it had useful information or was simply more of a fan thing that wouldn't be very useful to anyone else. Thankfully it was shown to be useful and the information is required to be incorporated into the regular list of N64 games, which was what I tried to do in the first place. Sorry again, I hope you'll continue helping to make things in Japanese more clear to English users of Wikipedia. I also wrote another apology on my talk page after reading your message. Removal of hidden SSBS tags edit

I took them out, but you reverted my edit, saying that they were doing some good by being there. It's not a hill to die on, since they're not harming anything, but my point is that we are only fostering the mass paranoia that those boards are infested with. You posit that they prevent people from adding them to the article, but I haven't seen any difference in the addition of unconfirmed characters for ones with tags and ones without. In addition, shortly after you reverted my removal, an IP attempted to add in Mega Man repeatedly, with the tag displayed right above the edit. Can you provide any further justification for why those tags should remain? Coreycubed (talk) 21:51, 9 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Are Gamefaqs, GAMESTOP, TOYSRUS sources ?--Lbrun12415 20:16, 3 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

When it comes to release dates for games that aren't out yet, they're not reputable. GameFAQs is a user-submission site, just like Wikipedia (such sites are never used as sources if there's better alternatives). Vendors like GameStop and TRU always use "best guess" release dates until companies actually give actual confirmed ones. If the game is already out, they could probably be used, but it's best to get a better source at that point anyways, since there would be a lot more sites, including more reputable ones, who give the same data. WP:VG/DATE has more information on all this. Arrowned (talk) 21:27, 3 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Metroid Prime/ Metroid Fusion release date. edit

A very good rule of thumb on release dates (especially for Nintendo games) is to actually look at what days the conflicting information tells you. For instance, various sources are reporting the release dates for MP were November 17th, 18th, and 19th of 2002. The 17th was a Sunday, the 18th was a Monday, and the 19th was a Tuesday. For Nintendo, they only release their products on 2 specific days: Sunday and Tuesday. The only time a Nintendo product is released on a Sunday, is if the product is a highly anticipated product with inevitable large sales. (Wii, NDS, NDS Lite, SSBB, Pokemon: D & P, are great examples). At the time, MP and MF were highly anticipated, but were not expected to sell above the 200K mark each for that week, thus leaving the only option to release it on a Tuesday (19th). Plus, about 99.5% of the time, no game will ever, or has ever, been officially released on a Monday. It's a shipping date. On top of all that, I was one of those people who were eagerly expecting Metroid Prime, counted down until it's release, and joyfully picked up my copy on November 19th, 2002.

I hope I clarified a few things up for you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.149.164.164 (talk) 15:00, 3 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Metroid II:Return of Samus edit

On the talk page, it seems an anonymous user is upset that the information about a fan-based colorization project keeps getting deleted. On my last deletion, he posted a number of sites that apparently discuss the project, but none of them seem notable to me. Can you poke your head in and give an opinion about the matter? Thanks. King Zeal (talk) 17:03, 26 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Level Opacity, though a very pretty site, seems to me to be little more than the blog and project database of a single programmer, and isn't really notable. Internode, on the other hand, is an offshoot of an Australian net provider and, while not the first site I'd think of to pull a citation from, is legitimate enough to work. Arrowned (talk) 20:13, 26 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
I apologize to both of you about, perhaps, the limited nature of the site resources I can provide. I would suggest that the reason why IGN and others haven't commented on the widespread nature of these remake projects is the fact that they are all highly illegal. Both the M2DX project (which involves modification of proprietary code and distribution of those modifications) and the full remakes violate copyright in a significant way- the former via methodology and bits of code, the latter completely since it uses Nintendo's own artwork as a foundation, PLUS is a derivative work. I just hope that, given the providing of sources, that we can at the least let the acknowledgment of the existence of these things remain. 76.28.138.83 (talk) 20:34, 26 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
That's alright. I was a little peeved at your initial response (possibly because there's a bit of truth in it; when there's no suitable citations for information, I tend to prefer deletion over leaving a [citation needed] template up for months, as generally tends to happen), but I've always liked the idea that this information could be included in the article, and was hoping eventually a proper citation could be found that would allow it to stay in. Certainly your point about the legal validity of the hacks and remakes is probably the foremost reason the major sites don't cover it. But now that we have a workable citation, I'm pretty pleased, so thank you for providing what you were able to find. Arrowned (talk) 21:58, 26 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Power Rangers edit

Appreciate your role in keeping the clairvoyants in check until the film is a reality. I know how frustrating these persistent vandals can be, but i think it's wise to resist the impulse for a sarcastic "Thank you". It not only contributes to a more general tone of incivility, but (especially on edit summaries, where they can't be changed later), they can give an editor a bad reputation (which i very much doubt you deserve!) with colleagues. But keep yp the good work, and i'll be keeping a half an eye there too: i blocked a guy with probably at least two registered IDs and a mission to (among other things) get out the word that it's not a kids' series. Speedy deletion of Image:SSBB Cover.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on Image:SSBB Cover.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:SSBB Cover.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. frogger3140 (talk) 00:09, 9 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Reliable sources edit

TV.com and IMDB are actually not reliable sources (yes, we list both in the external links, but they are not reliable sources) - IMDB's editors do not extensively fact check, and the same goes with TV.COM. With both sites false information could be overlooked by the editors. - Now, as for Rotten Tomatoes, while I normally like it, I'm not sure if the editors simply took what was on TV.COM and/or IMDB. If you want you can get a second opinion at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard - WhisperToMe (talk) 22:39, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Clean up assistance edit

Seeing as I can't find you anywhere else: Mythdon was like a bull in a china shop today when it came to removing images from PR articles. I blanket reverted him entirely and gave him a warning. Black Kite is helping out in the really severe cases, but could you take a look and do some clean up as well?—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 00:01, 1 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Heh. I was off RPing and nailing insulation in the ceiling of the house addition we're building; I only just got finished. Sure; I'll give you guys a hand. Arrowned (talk) 00:52, 1 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Both of you do not understand that excessive use of images is too much. That is why I made those changes. I emphasize that excessive use of images is too much. Do you expect me to allow too much images?. —Mythdon (talkcontribs) 01:06, 1 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
No, we expect you to realize that your opinion may or may not properly reflect Wikipedia's actual policy and to follow said policy. Arrowned (talk) 01:09, 1 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Too much is too much. If I take 5 pictures of the same pizza box and upload them to Wikipedia, wouldn't you say that is too much?. —Mythdon (talkcontribs) 01:18, 1 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
That's a pretty ridiculous argument considering what you were doing: removing one or two pictures of, at max, three or four, on articles with more than enough text to make at least three images feasible under policy. Arrowned (talk) 01:22, 1 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Too much is too much, and I have said it time and time again. I refuse to comply with excessively including images on articles. I'm not saying we can't use 3 or 4 images on an article. Sometimes it is actually good to have that many images on an article, but in this case, it is too much, even if just one image. I'm going to say it again, too much is too much. —Mythdon (talkcontribs) 01:29, 1 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Mythdon: You are interpreting policy incorrectly.Ryūlóng (竜龙) 02:42, 1 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
What I said earlier about WP:REPOSITORY, I must agree, but I still think we should avoid going into the direction of image galleries. In my opinion, we should start controlling how many images are on a Power Rangers article before we go into the direction of image galleries. —Mythdon (talkcontribs) 17:58, 1 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Drivemaxdeparture01.png) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Drivemaxdeparture01.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:18, 8 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Username edit

Hello. From 2006-2007, your signature said "Arrow" rather than "Arrowned". Was this due to a username change or was "Arrow" just a signature?. —Mythdon (talkcontribs) 02:39, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Just a signature change. I've never had the actual username "Arrow", which I would have preferred to get from day one, but it was long gone before I started at Wikipedia. Later on, I realized using Arrow in my signature with the actual account Arrowned could be confusing to others, which is why it's back to normal now. I am not going to revert your change, nor am I going to make immediate judgment, but I was wanting to know if you searched Google for "Huuki Sentai Toranger" after or prior to this revert or if you're searching right now. While I trust that you wouldn't make such reverts without good reason, can you please explain? Thanks. —Mythdon t/c 02:57, 2 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Volunteer opportunity in Bethesda, Thursday, July 16 edit

The Wikimedia Foundation will be conducting an all-day Academy at the National Institutes of Health, in Bethesda, Maryland, on Thursday, July 16. The team that will be teaching at the Academy, a mix of paid staff and volunteers, is looking for four more volunteers to be teaching assistants, providing one-to-one assistance in workshops whenever a workshop participant has a problem following the instructional directions. (We currently have two editors signed up as teaching assistants, and are looking for a total of six.)

The NIH editing workshops are only for two hours, but volunteers are asked to meet the Wikimedia Foundation team at the hotel in Bethesda at about 7:15 a.m. (time to be finalized shortly) and to stay for the entire day, which ends at 4:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided. (The full schedule can be found here.)

The team is not necessarily looking for expert editors (though they are welcome), just people who can help novices who might get stuck when trying to do some basic things. If you've been an editor for at least 3 months, and have done at least 500 edits, you probably qualify.

If you're interested, please send John Broughton an email. If you might be interested, but would like further information, please post a note on his user talk page, so that he can respond there, and others can see what was asked.

Please update your status with WP:VG edit

Dear WikiProject Video games member,

You are receiving this message because you have either Category:WikiProject Video games members or {{User WPVG}} somewhere in your userspace and you have edited Wikipedia in the recent months.

The Video games project has created a member list to provide a clearer picture of its active membership.

All members have currently been placed in the "Inactive" section by default. Please remove your username from the "Inactive" listing and place it under the "Active" listing if you plan on regularly:

Ideally, members are encouraged to do both, but either one meets our criteria of inclusion. Members still listed inactive at the beginning of November 2009 may be removed. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.

AfD nomination of Once a Ranger edit

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Once a Ranger. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Once a Ranger (2nd nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:10, 20 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
