Two days ago, coming home from work on a rather long drive, it occurred to me--you don't happen to be an Orson Scott Card fan, do you? --KQ

I've enjoyed many of his works. Ender's Game, and the Alvin Maker series, in particular. Speaker for the Dead didn't really work for me, but I couldn't really explain why. I didn't read the rest of the series, though I thought I had Xenocide somewhere.
The Alvin series always amused me, because the early books took place near where I grew up.
My favorite author of all time is Vernor Vinge, though. --ansible

Huh. More stuff to add to my ever-expanding list of books to read.  :-) Someday I'll catch up with all of it. --KQ

Thanks for the prod. I added a little of what you asked under strategic bombing, including links to a couple of stubs under strategic bombing survey and an actual fairly complete article on strategic bombing survey (Europe). Ortolan88 23:03 Aug 6, 2002 (PDT)

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
