The article that I am reviewing is titled YouTube. The link to the article is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/YouTube. It covers the history of YouTube, its various features, revenue, policies, censorship etc. It is a fairly long article, containing 11 categories, but very detailed. The facts in this article have been cited from various sources. Some of the sources are new outlets such us the New York Times, Time Magazine, BBC, Forbes, and USA Today. Another source that appears several times in the article is actual YouTube videos such as the first video ever uploaded called "Me at the zoo".

The information that is available in the article is relevant to anyone that may be doing research on it. it covers the story behind its creation and those involved, how it earns money and how content creators earn money, it community policies as well as its social media impact. the one thing that threw me off was the category titled "April Fools". this section talks about all the videos that have been uploaded on April fools. What i don't understand is why they picked this specific content to talk about when there are countless other videos on different topics.

The content of the article is in fact neutral. There aren't any opinion based comments on any of the topics discussed. The information presented is also well cited. After going though the reference list, I saw a lot of news articles from websites such as the ones mentioned above. There were also actual YouTube videos that were cited throughout the article. I followed some of the links and one particular link led me to a website called "Web Video Techniques". I'm not sure that this qualifies as a credible source but some on the links i looked at took me to posts on websites such as this one. For this reason, I am not sure that all of the information in the article is unbiased.

The part of the article that talked about YouTube's features was quite lengthy but i wouldn't say that it is necessarily a bad thing. i say this becasue being a regular user, i have seen and taken advantage of a lot of the features they have to offer and i know that there are others that i have not discovered yet so i can understand of there is a lot to say about what YouTube has to offer. On the other hand, I noticed that the section on "NSA Prism program" was a sentence long. The sentence only mentions that YouTube was though to be part of this program that was announced in 2013. No other information is available on the matter.

From what I have seen and what I know about YouTube, I would say that the information is up to date. The things that indicate this to me is the mention of YouTube Red which is one of the most recent features that the site has. Another thing is the mention of some of the more prominent content creators whose names I recognize from watching their videos.
