Quotes
editHi Althea, nice work copyediting the Tracy Chapman article. However, Wikipedia uses logical quotation as described in the Manual of Style, so the punctuation should go after the quotation marks in almost all song titles. Therefore, I've moved the quote marks back to their original position in Chapman's article. Graham87 15:09, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
- Not to be rude but to butt in anyway, so-called "logical" quotes disrupt the eye and the page. There's a reason CMOS and American style is the way it is. Take any professionally book off the shelf and you'll see why. There's no percentage in being proud of producing an amateurish product. kcylsnavS{screechharrass} 13:23, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
- So why not argue this as part of changing the Mos then? (I can bet the issue has already had more than one thorough goings-over in the MoS Talk archives, resulting in current policy, since it does affect every article in the Wikipedia.) Is this advocating individual editor revolt based on personal preference, against that community policy decision? Ihardlythinkso (talk) 16:05, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
