January 2022 edit

Your edit summary here. This was not vandalism; as you can see from the page history I was the editor who fixed a lot of formatting errors in the page with a previous edit, including moving the infobox to its correct position. It is not possible to tell how it subsequently got deleted – I was using the visual editor to fix multiple ref error msgs so it may have been one of its notorious anomalies. Vandalism is a deliberate attempt to damage the encyclopedia, which this was not, and making accusations is not a good idea. Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 06:41, 24 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hey, thanks for reaching me. I realised after I made the edit your intentions were sincere and you were fixing links I made, and, at the heat of the moment I assumed it was vandalism. My apologies. Thanks for fixing the links, I’m pretty much a rookie when it comes to Wikipedia so it’s all a learning curve for me. Hi, not to worry :). The most likely explanation is that I was somehow editng an older version of the article; that seems likely, given the ref. that re-appeared at the very start. The vis-ed does not seem to display a warning like the source editor does when that happens. If you are able to translate the dates in the sources, that would be useful and I noticed that the date of birth was varyingly given as 1924 / 1935. I changed the 1935 instance to 1924, but am not 100% whether that is correct? Cheers. Eagleash (talk) 07:02, 24 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
I’m assuming you mean the dates for the links in the references? I could try doing that sure. Yes you’re right about 1924, I mistakenly had 1935 written down. The issue with the years is that in Iran they’re in a different calendar to us, so for example this person’s exact DOB is not recorded, only that it was in 1303. This correlates to 1924/1925 our calendar. Thanks for helping the page. Ali313korosh (talk) 07:18, 24 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yes the date the source was written or published; it's not vital (as I got rid of the date value flags by just removing the dates!) but *technically* it should be there. Thanks. Eagleash (talk) 08:10, 24 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

March 2024 edit

Hello, I'm Sumanuil. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, List of ayatollahs, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 22:24, 14 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

It is well known he has passed. His page on Wikipedia also confirms this. I will add the citation in as well but it really wasn't necessary to undo an edit in this manner just because a citation was missing. Ali313korosh (talk) 00:16, 19 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
