Portal:Epitaph Records up for deletion
editHi Alex 101, this is to inform you that Portal:Epitaph Records has been put up for deletion. Please see Wikipedia:Miscellany_for_deletion#Portal:Epitaph_Records for the discussion. Best, Madder 13:25, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

Jawbreaker
editThe pages you recently created about Jawbreaker musicians don't appear to add much to the encyclopedia and currently fail WP:V. I've redirected them to the band article which already contains the same information, feel free to bring them back up if you have some reliably sourced info about them. By the way, the headers on your talk and userpages could be counterproductive a la WP:BEANS. Cheers, Deiz talk 14:00, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia, Alex 101! However, your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the link you added, matching rule photobucket\.com, is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. Pennywise (band)
editThe use of album covers in a discography section does not meet Non-free content criteria points 3a and 8. I have removed them from Pennywise (band) again. If you would like more information about the removal of the album covers, please review User:Durin/Fair use overuse explanation, and feel free to ask any questions. ~ BigrTex 22:39, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
- I am now removing them again from Skid Row (heavy metal band) for the same reasons. ~ BigrTex 17:30, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

editHey, dude. Thanks for the proposal but I am not into editing wikipedia too much and I was never a big Bad Religion fan so I guess I can't help you --Dexter_prog (talk • contribs • count) @ 22:34, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

editThanks man for the invite. I love Bad Religion, but I didn't know they had a new CD out, so I'm going to go check that out. - Bagel7 18:19, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

editSorry but I really don't know much about Bad Religion and I'm not really a big fan so I can't join that Wikiproject. Thanks for the offer anyway--The Skeleton 18:36, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Messages
editHi Alex, messages about non-free images are not "useless", and it denigrates the hard work that many editors do to ensure that Wikipedia abides by copyright regulations and stays out of legal trouble. If you wish to remove such messages from your talk page, it is far more appropriate to say in your edit summary that you do not intend to contest the status of the images . I do so with with the simple summary "rm, no contest". On another point, your header message asks vandals not to vandalize and goes so far as to name "famous" vandals. Per WP:BEANS, this is more likely to be counter productive, and better left out altogether. Simply deleting vandalism, trolling or otherwise unconstructive messages with as little fuss or recognition as possible is the way to go. Thanks, Deiz talk 14:46, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

- I'm sorry, I'm just getting tired of people deleting an image I upload. Alex 03:27, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
- I understand your frustration, but rather than calling me an idiot, it would probably be more constructive to look through your upload log to make sure the non-free images you have uploaded comply with policy and guidelines. Then you wouldn't have to worry about deletion notices. Videmus Omnia Talk 16:09, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Image:Suicidal_Tendencies.jpg listed for deletion
editAn image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Suicidal_Tendencies.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.
Repost of deleted Image:Suicidal_Tendencies.jpg
editAlex, please don't re-upload images that are in violation of our non-free content criteria, especially when they've already been deleted as a result of an IfD discussion. This is a violation of policy and not constructive. If you want an image of this band, please obtain a free image. I've written a tutorial on how to go about this at User:Videmus Omnia/Requesting free content. Let me know if I can help you with this. Videmus Omnia Talk 18:36, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Revert warring
editYou currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on A Perfect Circle. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. (Both of you need to knock it off and discuss this without clogging up the edit history of that page.) --Dynaflow babble 19:41, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Starving Millionaires
editA proposed deletion template has been added to the article Starving Millionaires, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page. B. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Starving Millionaires.jpg)
editThanks for uploading Image:Starving Millionaires.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 17:22, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Lemonheads template
editGood work on creating the Lemonheads templaye box, er, thing! Can we include ex-members like Ben Deily who have their own pages though? Deily was a founder member and sung lead vocals on the first three albums so I think he can be considered an important person in the history of the band along with the likes of T. Corey Brennan who played guitar and wrote songs that appeared on multiple albums. I know that Dando is the only constant member so I can see wy you only included him initially! Cavie78 (talk) 01:11, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! I just couldn't figure out who else was in the band besides Evan Dando, but sure go ahead and add Ben Deily. Alex (talk) 01:49, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Little context in Against the Grain Tour
editHello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Against the Grain Tour, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Against the Grain Tour is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Against the Grain Tour, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. is vs are
editOkay i read your discussion(even before i changed it the first time) and it doesnt make you any more gramatically correct. Suicidal Tendencies is not a series of bands, it is one band, so "Is" is the correct term.the juggreserection (talk) 20:53, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
- It is apparent the Alex isn't interested in proper grammar. Apparently, the grammar of some guy in a band outweighs stacks of textbooks on basic English. -- kainaw™ 15:43, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- Basically, Alex, what you are saying to people in which i have seen in numerous examples in different places is that just because you own the albums it makes you right because you read it in the cd insert. If someone in the band says it a certain way doesnt make it right. This is an encyclopedia, so we should practice correct grammar. and what i did was not vandalism, and even if you saw it that way, i was still improving the quality of the article, so im right per WP:IAR.the juggreserection (talk) 17:28, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- I am not refusing to stop vandalizing. i am refusing to stop putting correct grammar in the article. come to think of it, you are refusing to listen to anyone but yourself and your cd inserts. so how about you stop vandalizing. as a matter of fact, ill make it official:

Fair use rationale for Image:Ugly Kid Joe.jpg
editThanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Ugly Kid Joe.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ricky81682 (talk) 03:03, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
