Stochastic process

edit

Dear Alanb,

I do not quite agree with some of the changes that you have made in the article Stochastic Process. Namely, as far as I know, the definition of modification that you wrote is not the standard one (rather, it is the definition of equivalence of stochastic processes, which does not need another term). On the other hand, the definition of modification as a random function   is rather useful, since it allows to talk about properties of paths, et cet. Also, the question whether a s.p. has a modification with certain properties is quite important.

As far as I remember, the last version that I have edited also included some references, which had the definitions as I claim.

I don't want to change it back before we agree on this (I have already changed it a few times, and every time someone changed it back), so please write me what do you think.

Best, Sasha

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
