Re:I wanted to know if you could help me!

edit

Well, it looks like you've already figured out how to use userboxes (WP:BOX). All I did to my page was put the boxes in a table so that they're lined up. Table syntax is explained here. Mine's fairly simple, compared to some user pages I've seen. More formatting information can be found here. Good luck! ... discospinster talk 19:09, 6 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

It looks great, but you don't have to repeat the userboxes on the talk page as well; it makes it difficult for users to see what messages have been left for you. Other than that, it's quite well done. You really are a fan of Lost, aren't you? :-) ... discospinster talk 20:31, 6 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re:Gender-neutral language

edit

No, you're right, encyclopedias don't normally refer to people as "guys". Unless it's talking about a group of men named "Guy", I suppose. ... discospinster talk 00:12, 13 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

General Hospital

edit

Hi, thanks for your help with the General Hospital character pages, but as a note of advice, please be cautious about adding information from personal knowledge. It is also generally not a good idea to add speculation, unless you can provide a source that verifies that this is public speculation. For example, if you see a "future tip" on soapdigest.com, you can include that information on an article, if you also link to the place at soapdigest where you got it. Thanks, and let me know if you have any questions, Elonka 01:04, 13 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

I would like you to if possible explain you reasons for cutting my pages so much. allie_collegegirl21 01:38, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

It looks like you're copy/pasting in information from some other website. We can't do that on Wikipedia, since it's a copyright violation. Also, when you sign posts, please just put ~~~~, and that will take care of your signature for you. --Elonka 01:46, 13 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
I very much appreciate that you want to add information from "non-citable sources", but we just can't do that on Wikipedia. The only information that can be added to Wikipedia articles, is that information which has already been published elsewhere. If you have other rumors and speculations to add, I'd put them in a blog or some other webpage or message board. If you keep adding uncited information to Wikipedia, you could be in danger of losing editing privileges, so please be careful. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Attribution --Elonka 01:52, 13 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for listing the website domains, but could you please provide a bit more detail? For example, could you give the complete URL where you got the information about what Bob Guza is saying? If nothing else, I'd like to read it too!  :) --Elonka 02:31, 13 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Regarding edits to Jason Gerhardt

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia, Aharri29! However, your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the link you added, matching rule proboards\d{1,3}\.com, is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. Please read Wikipedia's external links policy for more information. If the link was to an image, please read Wikipedia's image tutorial on how to use a more appropriate method to insert the image into an article. If your link was intended to promote a site you own, are affiliated with, or will make money from inclusion in Wikipedia, please note that inserting spam into Wikipedia is against policy. Allie, thanks for your message. However, I was a bit confused as to what you were asking. If I'm understanding correctly, you were asking for my assistance on how to set up an automated archive on your own page, with a 15-day timer? I can definitely do that if you'd like. But if I'm not understanding your question properly, please let me know? It sort of sounded like you wanted me to change my archive timer, but I'm very happy with my 30-day setup. Oh, and could you please be sure to sign your comments with ~~~~ ? It's important that your actual username be part of the signature, so that people know how to reply to you! If you want, there's an option in your user settings, where you could set up your signature so that typing ~~~~ would insert the name " allie_collegegirl21" that was still a link back to your actual user page, like this: allie_collegegirl21. I could also help you get your username on Wikipedia changed, so that instead of Aharri29, you really would be allie_collegegirl21! Let me know if you'd like any assistance, Elonka 17:11, 27 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
