Examples

I think that both of your edits (Applications of island biogeography to Island Like Systems (ILS) and Species-area relationships) were both very well written and thought out. However, I think they both would benefit from some examples. Also, if you wanted, you could add some pictures just for fun! Margcamkey (talk) 17:09, 29 November 2022 (UTC)

• The first sentence in species area relationships is a little vague. It may be better to just define the term rather than explaining how they "assist" understanding? I would also suggest updating this section to reflect the origins of the species-area relationship concept in island biogeography theory, as we discussed before.

• "Equations and graphs" are not an interpretable subject in the last sentence of your first paragraph.

• You might want to have a look at the guidelines for formatting equations in Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Displaying_a_formula)

• "c stays constant (but" -- more idiomatic would be something like: "c is a constant representing XXX". Also you should consider formatting the letters here so it is clearer that they are mathematical variables.

• Consider reformulating "the way in which island species dynamics occur" with a more interpretable subject. This paragraph could also use a clear topic sentence to explain what it's about, e.g. "The theory of island biogeography has also been widely applied beyond it's original domain in the study of oceanic islands".

• You might want to look over your use of tense in this section. Some of the stuff in past tense should likely be present (e.g. "idea that reserves and national parks formed islands"). There's also some strange use of "pluperfect" where regular past tense would suffice, e.g. "ecologists HAD found more examples of the species-area relationship" instead of "have found" or just "found".

• "In species diversity, island biogeography most describes allopatric speciation" -- not sure what "most describes" is supposed to mean here. I think the theory of island biogeography is primarily about migration rather than speciation.
