Copyright violation on Ibn Arabi edit

Your addition to Ibn Arabi has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Yworo (talk) 17:26, 23 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Copyright edit

We cannot use copyrighted material, even if you are the copyright holder, on Wikipedia. We can only use material released under the GNU Free Documentation License or a Creative Commons license. Frequently, even the copyright holder cannot do this due to their contracts with publishing companies. If you would like to so release your material, you will find the instructions for doing so here. Be sure to check with any publishers with whom you may have contracts and get their clearance. Donating the material to Wikipedia will allow anyone to reuse your text and may decease your publisher's profits. Such a move may be prohibited by any publication contracts. Okay, yes, I see now that scribd licenses the original document under both CC and GFDL licenses. That takes care of everything except one thing. While I am reasonably sure you are who you say you are, anybody can create any user name they want on both Wikipedia and Scribd. We have a big problem with people uploading things to scribd in violation of copyright and then linking to them as references. If the document were on a website that clearly belonged to you as the author, then nothing further would be needed. If you have such a website and the document could be hosted there, it would resolve the problem. Alternatively, if the license information were in the PDF document itself, that would resolve the issue.
If neither of these is feasible, I know that the OTRS team has a process for verifying identity. If you would contact the OTRS team, let them know what the issue is, and verify your identity via their process, that would assure me that Wikipedia could include your writing in the article.
Please don't get me wrong, I believe you and if you restore the material, I won't revert it. But for Wikipedia records could you please follow through with the OTRS contact? Also, if and when you do restore the material, could you please change the ALL CAPS headings to the style described by our manual of style - only the first word and proper nouns should be capitalized.
Thanks for your patience with this. As I'm sure you know, when copyrighted material is inserted in to Wikipedia it is usually done by someone other than the copyright holder, so such material is regularly removed first, questions asked later, to avoid any liability issues from arising. My apologies if the removal offended you. Yworo (talk) 14:45, 29 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Jheel2.JPG edit

A tag has been placed on File:Jheel2.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. September 2015 edit

Hello, I'm My name is not dave. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Ibn Arabi without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. For the Election committee, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:50, 23 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
