Unblock request

edit

<<unblock|Trollup is the pronunciation of Trollope, a common surname. Nothing offensive there.>>

Entirely plausible and considering you had made valid contributions to Wikipedia before this block was issued, I found it quite unwarranted to begin with. Apologies for any inconvenience caused, some administrators are a bit too paranoid when it comes to "trolls". --  Netsnipe  ►  16:34, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Actually, it could be considered offensive as a slang term with similar meaning to "slut", albeit with weaker negative overtones. I'm inclined towards assuming good faith here, but Trollup, you might find it worth changing your username to avoid misunderstandings. I'm in two minds about taking it to WP:RFCN because, however it's meant, it can be seen as offensive. SamBC(talk) 16:47, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Indeed, I'm sorry if I made you feel unwelcome. That certainly was not my intention. I disagree with Netsnipe, though. SamBC is correct in pointing out that the word has several meanings, *all* of which are derogatory. Good to see that you have requested a change of username. Let me know in case you need any help getting around on Wiki. Cheers, and happy editing!--thunderboltz(TALK) 17:35, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Unfortunatly, the request on WP:CHU will almost certainly be unsuccessful because the username Trollope is already taken by another user and is not usurpable as the account has made edits. --NickContact/Contribs 19:24, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ututo

edit

Your proposal for deletion of Ututo was totally out of line. Proposals for deletion are meant be used in uncontested situations. Ututo has more than a hundred edits and has edits, on the page and on the talk page, today. It's obviously going to be contested so {{prod}} is going to be inappropriate. If you think it should be deleted, send it to to Articles for Deletion but, personally, I don't think it will survive. —mako 22:08, 16 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re your recent prods

Regarding your comment here [1], please read WP:POINT. If you disagree with an article's possible deletion debate that article. Don't propose over a dozen other articles for deletion to try and make your case.--Crossmr 22:50, 16 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

No, I think the criteria are entirely reasonable, and as such they should be applied universally. ATrollope 22:59, 16 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
