Impressions: The article is beautifully presented and organized. It just needs some more details.
Suggestions:
- One or two 3D renderings of computed transition states might add to the discussion.
- What are the barriers in these reactions?
- The alternating charge model needs a reference.
- A general discussion on how Lewis acids catalyze these rearrangements could be helpful.
- What do isotope effects have to say about whether the reaction is concerted or not? Dynamic effects are probably important in these reactions, and may deserve mentioning in the mechanism section.
- How does one access the vinylcyclopropane precursor selectively?
