Re: Safety options

edit

If this were a news article, I would be inclined to agree that repetition would be important. However, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and adding redundant information serves no purpose here. The article already provided the proper explanation of what the recommended plan of action and there is no need to expand upon it. It is mainly there as a reference point for readers so they can understand the context of why mass evacuations during a tornado are seen as a life-threatening situation. I'm quite certain Wikipedia is known as "The Free Encyclopedia" not "The Free News." Your claims of my contributing to a biased representation of information are unfounded and I do not appreciate such accusations. I have relayed information from available reliable sources into the article appropriately to depict what has been pegged as a source of controversy (for quite obvious reasons it seems). I have not seen any claim by professional meteorologists supporting the evacuation idea in the wake of the tornado. If you can provide a reliable source clearly stating that evacuating was the appropriate decision, I would be happy to include it in the article. Otherwise, addition unfounded claims and personal opinions are against Wikipedia's policies and will be removed. Cyclonebiskit (talk) 16:46, 17 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 16:30, 17 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at 2013 El Reno tornado. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted or removed.

  • If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
  • If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Continued reverts of edits will breach Wikipedia's three revert policy. You have been blocked from editing for a period of 36 hours for your disruption caused by edit warring and violation of the three-revert rule at 2013 El Reno tornado. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.
