Banknotes of the Indonesian rupiah edit

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to an article may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. Please note that we take very seriously our criteria on non-free image uploads and users who repeatedly upload or misuse non-free images may be blocked from editing. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. ΔT The only constant 13:04, 9 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

May 2011 edit

This is your only warning; if you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at Banknotes of the Indonesian rupiah, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. ΔT The only constant 15:36, 9 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Banknotes of the Indonesian rupiah. Users are expected to collaborate with others and avoid editing disruptively.

In particular, the three-revert rule states that:

  1. Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. ΔT The only constant 15:45, 9 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits edit

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 15:46, 9 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 Hours for your disruption caused by edit warring by violation of the three-revert rule at Banknotes of the Indonesian rupiah. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 19:53, 9 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

User:Δ repeatedly removed images from Banknotes of the Indonesian rupiah claiming 'overuse' of non-free content, whereby he violated 3RR. I reverted this because he was removing many images that are unambiguously public domain, essentially vandalising the page, which I believe I am within my rights to revert. I was involved with a discussion at his talk page and at WP:ANEW regarding this matter, at which there does not appear to have been any suggestion that I should be blocked, however I now find I have been blocked by an involved admin, who had previously nominated the images for deletion and who has now also nominated the page on which they were used for deletion. I would suggest that he has displayed poor judgement in doing so given his involvement in the dispute and would request that I am unblocked in order that I can further clarify the copyright information requested by User:Δ so that those images that are unambiguously public domain can be tagged accordingly.86.186.32.97 (talk) 20:19, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

Accept reason:

see below  Ronhjones  (Talk) 20:57, 9 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

If you wish to claim that all the images are PD - then you must go to each image page, remove the Fair use notice and provide adequate evidence that it is PD, you cannot edit war on the article about it. The images are tagged as Fair use and must therefore be used according to the Fair Use Policy.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 20:33, 9 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
I did go to each image page and correctly tag each image as public domain (and removed the fair use notice also, as you could see from my contribution history) but Δ reverted my changes on sight and then put some specious warning on my talk page, without actually bothering to check the facts first. I asked him to undo his reversion but he refused to do so, instead continuing to revert the page they were used on instead. 86.186.32.97 (talk) 20:40, 9 May 2011
You tagged some of them, there are a lot you didn't. I see you used PD-IDGov - I would say it's not clear where banknotes come in that publication and/or reproduction of anything which is published by or on behalf of the Government, except if the Copyright is declared to be protected by law or regulation or by a statement on the work itself or at the time the work is published - a banknote could easily (and in many countries probably) be protected by law. I can only suggest that that issue is resolved first at, say, Wikipedia:Copyright problems. I will unblock in a minute, but please no more edit warring. Get a review on the suitability of the notes against PD-IDGov, then if it goes in your favour, do all the edits to the notes. P.S. I do not consider myself involved. I have never edited anything connected with this article. The images were tagged as "orphaned free use", because at the time I found them - that's exactly what they were. As for the AfD, once I saw the article (post blocking), it seemed the obvious thing to do, considering the poor state of the article - if enough editors wish to keep it, then it won't be a problem.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 20:56, 9 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Banknotes edit

I see the article has been restored. That means DashBot has removed all the orphan tags for you. But you now need to change all the FUR to PD. I have made a list...
