- Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced to multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring and sockpuppetry.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Deliberately adding such content or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism, doing so will result your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Lastly, if you are editing an article about an individual or group of people, please adhere to Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons' policy.
The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! --5 albert square (talk) 20:26, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

editWelcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Seagate Technology, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This is particularly important when adding or changing any facts or figures and helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. - If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
- BTW. This is an encyclopedia, not a forum. Also, Facebook is not a reliable source. KeepingPace (talk) 20:04, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to the page Seagate Technology. Such edits constitute vandalism and are reverted. Please do not continue to make unconstructive edits to pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thank you. ScottyBerg (talk) 20:04, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Seagate Technology, you may be blocked from editing. KeepingPace (talk) 20:05, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

This is the final warning you will receive regarding your disruptive edits. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at Seagate Technology, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. KeepingPace (talk) 20:22, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

- Hello, the reason you are being reverted is that you are not providing a reliable source for the information you're adding and Facebook is not an acceptable link for a wikipedia article. Also, please don't use ALL CAPITALS in articles. Feel free to ask any questions. Thanks, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:25, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

editPerhaps you are trying to help inform others of this class action lawsuit, which is a noble idea. However, adding the information in this way is not appropriate for Wikipedia. Such claims must be verifiable from reliable sources. I'll start looking around for news articles relating to this. If this lawsuit is covered in the news, then it might be appropriate to mention it in this article. KeepingPace (talk) 20:29, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
- I did a couple of searches for related information (1, 2), but could not find any. Other than facebook, do you have a source for this information that is relaible? KeepingPace (talk) 20:37, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
