Notwithstanding the caption of the cartoon, the Qld parliamentarian who advocated a rabbit proof fence was Ernest James Stevens, see [1]. His electorate was close to the NSW border so much more at immediate risk of the rabbits compared to Stevenson's electorate in Central Queensland (much further north). I note that neither of the articles for these men mention the fence so you can't really include the cartoon without some text about the role of the person in the fence issue to justify the presence of the cartoon. It is a nice cartoon though and maybe could be added to Rabbits in Australia#Queensland which talks about the fence (but avoid naming any particular politician since this appears to be an error in the cartoon caption).
