Apple Pay in Georgia

edit

Hi, I checked the website you provided [1], but it didn't mention Apple's Express Transit mode in the Apple Pay section. Does the payment card need to be unlocked and verified using Face ID or Touch ID before tapping the card readers? --Tim Wu (talk) 15:16, 19 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Yes, all the Master Card and Visa cards issued by TBC Bank and/or Bank of Georgia need to be verified by using Face ID or Touch ID before tapping the card readers. 5.178.194.225 (talk) 11:04, 23 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
The website you checked mentions that TBC Bank made its own transport cards and, in the process, the card reading equipment was upgraded in the vehicles, giving them the ability to read Visa and MasterCard cards. The cards you see on the image cannot actually be added to Apple Pay, because they are neither of those. They are meant to be used without Apple Pay. Only Visa and MC cards are supported here via Apple Pay.
These cards were made for people who do not have Apple Pay. However, people who do have it use it instead of carrying their physical bank cards.
Hi, if the MC and Visa cards in Apple Pay need to be verified beforehand, then the toll machine of traffic systems does not support Express Transit mode (Apple's documentation). This video is an example of using Hong Kong's Octopus card to ride the metro, and you can see no verification is needed. --Tim Wu (talk) 15:31, 23 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
