George Wythe article edit

Look, I can tell you've got some level of involvement with this school. Your comments and edits make that obvious. I don't necessarily hold that against you, but you've got to realize that at some point the school is going to have to acknowledge and come to terms with its checkered past. It's the only way to move beyond it. I personally think the general idea of the school is good; the principles are good. But to (badly) paraphrase / adapt Emerson, your history shouts so loudly in my ears, I can't hear anything you're saying. Try some institutional self-deprecation. Some humility. Acknowledge your roots. Acknowledge the mistakes (Ph.D.s in psychology???). That's point one. Point two is, this school could really accomplish some things -- things that would actually give it a reason to boast. Currently all the boasting done (the leading college in the united states dedicated to building statesmen? could that perhaps be the leader in a field of one?) only serves to weaken your cause. Have your faculty start submitting editorials to newspapers, publish articles in non-The Statesman publications, hustle to get in as a pundit on the news show circuit, via satellite from Cedar City Utah. Publish white papers. There is currently very little to read / learn about you guys, yet you talk in grandiose (forgive me, but almost bellicose) terms. It appears to be a big hat / no cattle type situation. Try toning down the accomplishment claims, bear down and actually start accomplishing some more things first. With the country in its current state, we need to get to our constitutional roots. Your organization could do so much good. But you're shooting yourselves in the foot at this point. Good luck! --TrustTruth (talk) 21:59, 27 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for the delay in responding, I'm still new to WP and didn't realize that you had written to me here. Actually, from all the details you know, it appears that you might be the one involved (or used to be) with the school. Are you a former employee? or maybe a former student? Did something bad happen while you were there? --4by40 (talk) 20:08, 28 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
I've never had anything to do with the school. --TrustTruth (talk) 23:59, 28 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
