Using edit summaries

Hello. I think I should make it clear that you might want to use an edit summary—the instance of me reverting your edit might prove problematic, as the content removal was not explained.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary.
