Preliminary Review from Kaylea edit

Hi, I'm starting to walk through articles and give everyone informal early feedback on how they're doing. You'll notice this is a little bit form-letter-ish but I hope it is still helpful.

I'm concerned about your choice of article. It looks to me like the article you've chosen may be quite challenging to improve because it already has a fair bit of content. You say as much in your evaluation of the article. The article is B-class and adding a quality class (which is what we are asking you to do) would mean 'Good Article' level. This would be a major undertaking; often it takes a team of people many months to move an article from B-Class to Good Article level. Please reconsider, or share with me your strategy for making a substantial improvement. I want you to succeed in this project!

feedback on progress edit

Hi @412timothy:

I see you making some progress on this article, and I like the idea of trying to create a new section as a way to improve the article, but unfortunately I think it's difficult to do so in a scientific way -- it comes across like an opinion. It also looks like you don't have sources added. Wikipedia has a strong policy around neutral point of view: WP:NPOV. Taking up a 'fan' type tone isn't allowed, no matter how awesome Steph Curry is :). It's often one of the most viewed articles in Wikipedia, and so it's been kept extraordinarily up to date. Not to repeat myself, but, you've set yourself up for a very hard task in trying to improve this article by a full quality task. It's not too late to change to a different article.

Feedback Questions edit

Hi @Khascall: !

Thank you so much for the feedback, it definitely provides more perspective!

My goal was to provide a quick look career highlights section as the article is incredibly dense for one person to quickly reference and go through. I can see how my wording may shift towards a lot of bias as I am a fan of Steph Curry!

Do you think this perspective of providing a quick reference to his career highlights would be beneficial to this article? I thought that it would help a ton, but maybe not!

Thank you again for the feedback!

Hi, @412timothy:
It's a reasonable idea but the problem is choosing the top highlights. Are there sportswriter lists of highlight to pull from, or some other source for making the call about what belongs on the list. Otherwise it's an opinion (probably people could make 5 different highlights lists and they'd all have good reasons for their choices). Are there features or sections in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Jordan that are missing from the Steph Curry page? I don't see anything really :/ I'm worried you're trying to do something that's essentially impossible with this project. Kaylea Champion (talk) 02:53, 13 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi @Khascall: !
I should have clarified, my fault! I was going to reference an NBA website that goes through Steph's top 10 career highlights. For some reason, the article didn't get referenced on the Wikipedia end, but I would make sure that it is referenced. It wouldn't be my opinion, but based on the work of NBA staff. Here is the article that I am going to reference: https://www.nba.com/news/10-milestone-moments-in-stephen-currys-nba-career
