Hi Anupmehra, The edit I made to Alkanna tinctoria was not a test. Did you read the first sentence of the article? The plant contains a red dye but the picture shows only blue flowers. I look forward to having my edit reinstated, thanks. 3941e402 (talk) 16:49, 15 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

And what did you actually change there? If it was not an edit test, then it should be considered a disruptive editing. Have a look at the change you made to that article, Click here. What's that? A Mp3 player made by Panasonic? inserted into a plant related article. You might opt to familiarise yourself with Wikipeidia policy and guidelines in order to not get your edits reverted. Hi Anupmehra,
Thanks for explaining the issue you had with the image I added. Believe it or not, plastics manufacturers use plant based dyes to add colour. Where you see an MP3 player, I see a red object on a pure white background and I'm quite certain that the particular red chosen by the manufacturer corresponds exactly to that obtained from the root of this plant. In case you haven't read the article yet, the text makes more than ten references to colour, stains and dyes. Indeed, the word "tinctoria" in the title means tincture and in that context the photo of a blue flower alone is misleading.
I consulted the policy guidelines as you suggested, regarding image use:-
Images on Wikipedia should be used in an encyclopedic manner. They should be relevant and increase readers' understanding of the subject matter. In general, images should depict the concepts described in the text of the article.
Also from the Rules of Thumb:-
6. Try not to use color alone to convey information, as it is inaccessible in many situations.
This article needs an image of the red dye, but not just a square of colour...
The entry for Alkannin is also sorely lacking an image with a colour sample, but I guess a picture of an MP3 player would be just as disruptive there. 3941e402 (talk) 19:37, 16 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding inappropriate images to Wikipedia, as you did to Alkanna tinctoria. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi 08:35, 16 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi,
Could you please explain why the image is/was inappropriate? 3941e402 (talk) 19:37, 16 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
