Albert Bringhurst Schroll was born in New Orleans on March 22, 1932. His middle name was his mother’s maiden name. Gladys Bringhurst married Charles W. Schroll, and Al was the youngest of their four children. Father Charles worked as a sales instructor and salesman of adding machines. Al reported his heritage as Dutch-German.3
