This is fair! My apologies, I had not read the reference correctly. I am in the process of either replacing the term "assault weapon" where appropriate, or placing quotation marks around it, as the term is not universally accepted nor inherently accurate to the weapons platforms it is attributed to in many articles. 2601:444:382:FC20:1A4:401:E6E8:E98B (talk) 19:05, 8 November 2023 (UTC)

Before you start a potentially controversial mass change like that in all 50+ articles, I suggest that you check in with Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Firearms (which I think is the best place, though I am not sure of it).
