November 2023 edit

Hello, I'm Sjö. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Gun laws in Maryland seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Your changes misrepresent the laws that are in place, for example by suggesting that all semi-automatic weapons are covered by a specific law, when this is not the case. Please also see MOS:SCAREQUOTES. Sjö (talk) 19:01, 8 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

This is fair! My apologies, I had not read the reference correctly. I am in the process of either replacing the term "assault weapon" where appropriate, or placing quotation marks around it, as the term is not universally accepted nor inherently accurate to the weapons platforms it is attributed to in many articles. 2601:444:382:FC20:1A4:401:E6E8:E98B (talk) 19:05, 8 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Before you start a potentially controversial mass change like that in all 50+ articles, I suggest that you check in with Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Firearms (which I think is the best place, though I am not sure of it). Ask what they think about those changes and see what the consensus is. Sjö (talk) 19:13, 8 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Again, fair. Sorry for my lack of knowledge on this, I am new to the edit function and the processes around it. Thank you! 2601:444:382:FC20:1A4:401:E6E8:E98B (talk) 19:50, 8 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
