  Before adding a category to an article, as you did to Wesley A. Swift, please make sure that the subject of the article really belongs in the category that you specified according to Wikipedia's categorization guidelines. The category being added must already exist, and must be supported by the article's verifiable content. Categories may be removed if they are deemed incorrect for the subject matter. Categorization in Wikipedia is hierarchical, not as meta tags. So if an article already exists in a subcategory of the tree (i.e. single or multiple levels), then you need not add the category unless it is a non-diffusing subcategory (which is not the case in the edit noted here).
