I'm not "adding an Italian translation": first, it isn't a translation but a phonetic transcription; second, it isn't about adding anything but restoring a content that has been in the page for years and that you removed on your own. It's there because that word, the dog's name, can be read also according to the Italian pronunciation, as "Maltese" is also an Italian word and in Malta both English and Italian are spoken, so please next time don't start from assuming that other users know less than you do about a certain matter... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.64.168.177 (talk) 20:19, 15 January 2020 (UTC)

Replying "go and read X and Y" is the weakest form of answer that one could write, it implies either that he doesn't know how to answer back the interlocutor's arguments or that such an effort isn't worth his time... Enough!!! I've been waiting all day for your answer, you've certainly read my message but didn't consider me worth an answer, so I've restored the content you removed without reason but now you keep removing it??? Now read what I'm writing and answer back:

1. the text you've removed is "The Maltese (Italian: [malˈteːze])", which means that "Maltese" can be also pronounced normally in English, but it's added the Italian pronunciation because the Italian pronunciation of that word can be used too;
2. if you'd bothered to read the link (which is the first link contained in the page itself) you'd have noticed that on page 2 (not 123, "2") it's written "PATRONAGE: Italy." and that in paragraph "BRIEF HISTORICAL SUMMARY:" is explained that the word "Maltese" in this case doesn't derive from "Malta" but from a Semitc word from the which other names, inclueded "Malta", derive;
3. it doesn't matter if the breed is originally from Malta or not, and it isn't even sure it is (it's sure just that it's orginally from the Central Mediterranean Sea), we aren't talking about such an information in the page, we're talking about the pronunciation of the word, and guess what, it's an Italian word indicating an (at least partially) Italian breed under Italian patronage, that's why that pronunciation has always been present in the age and nobody has ever thought to remove it, even if countless editors have edited the page, many of whom were certainly familiar with dog breeds, unlike you who insist on removing it not because you "know" anything about this matter but because you don't want to admit you got it totally wrong about it, and you're literally disrupting Wikipedia just because of that;

three points, 1, 2 and 3, I'm waiting for your answer, I'm so curious to read it, don't disappoint me by replying "go and read...".

I'm TIRED of repeating it: if you want to discuss with me, do it in this talk page, not in the edit summary by reverting my content restoring!
