Removal of commas edit

Hi. Can you explain the removal of commas? "In 1970, Ferrari manufactured etc etc etc." There needs to be a comma there after the year. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 19:37, 16 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

The example they give for no comma after a month and a year at Comma#In dates is "Her daughter April may return in June 2009 for the reunion." Where you are removing them is at the start of the sentence as in the example in my first post. There, it does not seem to flow as well without a coma. As Vaselineeeeeeee has explained, Commas#In_dates has nothing to do with this circumstance. Read that guidance again. The introductory clause "In 1970" should be offset from the rest of the sentence by a comma. https://www.grammarly.com/blog/commas-after-introductory-clauses/ General Ization Talk 20:05, 16 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
@General Ization: Thanks. I wanted to also get a better idea of this and perhaps include an example in the MoS for situations like these. See Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style#Commas after a year mainly at beginning of sentence. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 20:07, 16 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

March 2018 edit

Please do not use styles that are unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Sneaky Pete. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you. General Ization Talk 01:09, 17 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
