Perhaps I would, but the link seems dead. Any updates? .V. [Talk|Email] 19:12, 18 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I tried to deal with your stated reason for deletion for Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2007_July_23#People_by_former_religion. Please re-consider your vote based on my edits diff diff. I have made many similar edits and more are to follow. In addition please review my arguments voiced there, among others that we should not remove the category former Muslims etc. because it is not a defining characteristic of some people, though it is for e.g. Ayaan Hirsi Ali. Following the same reasoning we should not delete the category:painters only because it is not a defining characteristic for some people, like Adolf Hitler. Andries 10:44, 29 July 2007 (UTC

Its over edit

The post you left on my page is appreciated, but please don't get involved in this. --Southern Texas 23:12, 2 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • I find it curious that you lecture me about civility when the user I was talking to compared me to a German during the reign of the Nazis.
  • Claiming it is a fact that Usama bin Laden is somehow connected to the United States government is defined as POV pushing and Anti-Americanism.
  • Also I find silly disputes to be garbage, if you feel calling arguments with no end resourceful then that's fine but I think differently.--Southern Texas 23:43, 2 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
It wasn't my intent to sound like a lecture. I'm sure that you believe there is POV pushing and so forth going on, but civility and collaboration can only occur if editors aren't calling each other names or accusing them of spreading propaganda. The best way to confront what you believe to be a POV warrior is to provide solid evidence to the contrary. Inflaming the situation would never help create a good article. .V. Denial talkpage edit

It seems like I need the allies in some little edit war on the Holocaust Denial page. If you agree with my position, you can make some undoings of their revertions if you like. Best regards--Igor "the Otter" 13:35, 12 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm not really sure what the contentious issue is here. Both versions seem acceptable, although it would really nice to have sources on that sort of thing in either revision (I've noticed that "claim it first, find a source later" is a common occurance on that page.) I generally try to avoid that topic if I can, simply because I don't feel up to dealing with POV warriors and Wikilawyers all day. I found better things to do. :P But, long story short, I'm not really sure what the problem is with these edits. Can you explain it to me? .V. [Talk|Email] 14:24, 12 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
