Hey everyone, just a quick note on me. I am here to help improve the economics articles on wikipedia, which are (sad to say) pretty crap....

To nail my colours to the mast: my economic view of the world is horribly orthodox, as i have had conservative neo-Keynesianism drilled into me from an early age (i.e. markets clear at a macro level, but micro rigidities may exist, a la early work of Stiglitz). My particular interest is international finance, monetary and exchange rate economics, a little bit of labour, and finance.

I am South African and spent my undergraduate years at Stellenbosch University, have an economics masters from the London School of Economics, and am thinking about a either an MBA or PhD at the University of Cape Town. So I guess I am an economist. Have spent four years at the South African Treasury under Trevor Manuel, but now have sold my soul to join the private sector.

Wikipedia is cool, but not half as cool as Uncyclopedia, which you must visit.
