The popularity of Korean Idols has been increasing all over the world in these days. People are attracted by seeing the fasinated Korean Idol's looking, performance and their variety kinds of entertainment skills in many situations. In fact, Korean idols are able to earn a lots of money as they gain their fame after they debut. Because Korean idols are able to make teenager fasicnate in many ways, many of teenagers try to become a Korean Idols. However, many Korean Idols have trained to improve their variety kinds of talent skills by each entertainment companies before they become Korean Idols later. Moreover, it's necessity to experience the training period as a trainee to become a Korean Idol. [1]In the past, each entertainment companies only focused on trainees' singing and dancing skills to improve. On the other hand, Korean Idols are expected to have a variety kinds of individual talent skills such as speaking foreign languages as the increasing of popularity of Korean Idol have increased all over the world in these days. While the expectation to Korean Idols have changed , the path to become a Korean idol have also changed comapred to the past. For example, not only Korean but also nonkorean have started to achieve the goal of becoming Korean Idols in these days. [2]

Auditions

Taking auditions are the most common and popular way for teenagers to have a chance for becoming a Korean idol trainee. Many Korean entertainment compnies hold their own audition many times to recruit the new trainees. For example, SM entertainment which is one of the biggest entertainment companies in South Korea holds an weekly auditon every Saturday. SM entertainment company make canditates can apply to five categories of auditions such as dancing, singing and acting to recruits people who have variety kinds of talent skills. [3] So does SM entertainment, other entertainment companies such as JYP entertainment, YG entertainment which are the biggest entertainment companies in South Korea also hold the audition have similar type of audition to recruit new trainees for their companies. Moreover, many entertainment companies holds the auditions not only in South Korea, but also other foreign countries such as Japan, China, United States. As the popularity of Korean Idols have been increasing all over the world, Korean entertainment companies realized that they needs to recruit and let foreign member join as a member of group to do marketing in the foreign country.[4][5]

Training period

It's necessity for each person to become a trainee at each entertainment companies to pass the way of becoming Korean Idols. Even they pass the competetive audition of companies, they have to be trained by the companies for a long time. [6] Trainee must experiences variety kinds of classes to improve many kinds of talent skills such as singing, dancing and acting. Average training period was used to be around 5 years in the past. In comparison, the idols who have an experience of training priod which is very short have appeared in the recentry. In that case, they have a special entertainment skills which was trained before they became a trainee. However, it's still general for trainee to experience of training period for a long time. [6]During the training period, trainees must pass the individual evaluation many times by looking a several criterion. Finally, trainee who passed the evaluation several times, they are able to be achknowledged and debut as a korean idol.

Training academies and entertainment highschools

[1]Since the number of canditates who want to become Korean idols have been increasing, to get an acceptance for becoming Korean idol trainees very competitive by taking an audition. In addition, many of Korean entertainment compnies are expected to have a higher level of various kinds of talent skills for canditate. [7]Therefore, many of teenager especially age between 10 to 16 years girls and boys and usually are trained by the trainers at Academies.[1] In the Academies, students are trained to improve their singing and dancing skills for ready to take an audition. In addition, there are some entertainment highschools especially around the Seoul areas. Entertainment high schools was made by private corporation and it also educate the teenage students by holding their own education system which is not similar to entertainement companies. At the entertainment high school, students who want to become a Korean idols are able to learn about entertainment skills such as dancing and singing. However, the principle of entertainment high school is that giving opportunity for students to improve their talent skills. So, many of students who want to become a korean trainee and idols can take a class and focus on improving their entertainment skills for the future. These entertainment schools are availble to support students even after they become a Korean idol trainee and idols later for keeping them to have an opportunity of education.[8]
