"The Complete UK Recordings" is a compilation of the first two albums, all single edits and b-sides recorded by the rock band 10cc for UK Records. Guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Eric Stewart submitted the band's first two songs to Apple Records and were turned down. Initially signed to UK by founder Jonathan King after guitarist Eric Stewart played King their songs "Donna" and "Waterfall", the band created a series of hit singles for King's label before signing with Mercury Records for their third album "The Original Soundtrack''.

After the 50's influenced single "Donna" raced up the UK charts peaking at #2 in 1972 , 10cc followed up with another 50's themes single "Rubber Bullets"and "The Dean and I' in 1973. All three singles were placed on the band's first album ["10cc"]] included here in its entirity. Disc one is rounded out by the single releases for each of these tracks along with the 50's patische "Johnny Don't Do It".

The second disc focuses on the band's second album and their respective singles including the band's two biggest singles "The Wall Street Shuffle" and "The Worst Band in the World". The latter featured re-recorded lyrics for UK airplay although the specially prepared single failed to garner much airplay because the single slipped down the charts almost immediately. .

Self produced by the band and largely engineered by Eric Stewart, the band's first two albums were bestsellers in the UK. All the albums and singles were recorded at Strawberry Studios which was owned by the members of 10cc.

Remastered by Dan Hirsch from the original mastertapes "The Complete UK Recordings" was released by the Varese label under their Varese Vintage imprint in 2004 for the band's 30th anniversary.
