World domination is the domination of the entire humanity. This unprecedented state was the target of various movements. The quest for world domination in a pejorative sense in modern times, was placed under different groups and political systems, and is still a popular theme in entertainment media.

editIn historical research various empires or hegemonic powers are described as "world domination", such as the Roman Empire [1], the Mongol empire under Genghis Khan or the Hapsburg-Spanish colonial empire under Charles V, [2], where the sun is not supposed to perished.
