- Competitive EDH, also known as cEDH, is not an explicit variant but is a subsection of the mainline EDH format. Breaking from the casual nature of the EDH format, cEDH players are "playing to win". In a cEDH game, players are "willing and ready to shed all artificial limitations and do everything in their power, while deckbuilding and while playing, to win the game."[1] CEDH as a subformat has records of "competitive" decklists that go as far back as 2009.[2]
