Howdy Wikipedia users, I'm Woody Woodcasters.
I started building Custom Exotic Wood Guitars & Basses in 2006 after sitting in my guitar room and wondering why there was so much plastic on mass produced instruments. Once the first few all wood instruments were built it was apparent we were going to have to make MORE of them.
But let's go back to the beginning... born Woodrow Woodcastrowski after my great, great grandfather, the family name was changed to Woodcasters when they immigrated to America in the 30s. Growing up I thought I had a choice to make.... manufacture small wooden wheels, (casters) or produce hand built custom one of a kind guitars and basses. Judging by the instruments, I made the right decision.
A few of my friends and I started a band as a blatant marketing tool. We called it Woody & The WoodTones. It started out as a blues and rock cover band but it quickly became apparent that the originals were good. Good enough to record the debut CD "Live At The Springs Theater". More later (----)
