Self Introduction

Hi there.
I'm Jilin Chen, a PhD student in Computer Science department at University of Minnesota. Copy and paste my name into Google and you'll find my resume. I have done fair amount of academic research in analyzing Wikipedia quantitatively, and in particular in understanding the dynamics of WikiProjects. More recently I became interested in applying personalization, recommender systems, and social computing technologies to help new editors integrate better into the Wikipedia community.
In case you wonder, well, this is a new account, but I have been a lurker and made random edits anonymously for quite a few years. This account is probably my third or fourth one --- you know, after you haven't logged in for half a year you forget your password, and then you realize that you are screwed because you didn't attach any email address to your account...
