The Grand Slam of Darts is a darts tournament organised by the World Darts Federation.

Former Qualification

Two year places

Throughout the Grand Slam of Darts, two year places were given to the last four competitors of the years PDC World Championship, the BDO World Championship and the previous Grand Slam of Darts as well as the last two competitors of the years Premier League, UK Open, World Matchplay and World Grand Prix. From the 2008 Grand Slam of Darts onwards, the last two competitors of the years European Championship received two year places. In the 2008 Grand Slam of Darts, the winner of the years Championship League received a two year place. But from the 2009 Grand Slam of Darts onwards, the last two competitors from the years Championship League received two year places. Also from there onwards, the last two competitors of the years Players Championship Finals received two year places. In the 2007 Grand Slam of Darts, the last two competitors of the years International Darts League and World Darts Trophy received two year places. The last two competitors of the Las Vegas Desert Classic in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and the US Open in 2007 and 2008 received two year places. The last two competitors of the German Darts Championship in 2007, 2008 and 2009 would get two year places in the following years Grand Slam of Darts. The last two competitors of the 2006 World Masters qualified for the 2007 and 2008 Grand Slam of Darts. The winner of the 2007 World Masters qualified for the 2008 and 2009 Grand Slam of Darts. The last two pairs from the 2010 PDC World Cup of Darts would qualify for the 2011 and 2012 Grand Slam of Darts. The PDC World Cup of Darts was moved to February 2012 where the last two pairs would receive two year places to the Grand Slam of Darts.

One year places

Throughout the Grand Slam of Darts, the wildcard qualifiers received a one year place. From the 2008 Grand Slam of Darts onwards, the highest placed non qualified player in the the PDC European Order of Merit received a one year place. From the 2010 Grand Slam of Darts onwards, the highest placed non qualified player in the Players Championship Order of Merit received a one year place. The last two competitors of the 2006 PDC World Championship, the 2006 BDO World Championship, the World Series of Darts (which took place in May 2006), the 2006 International Darts League, the 2006 Premier League, the 2006 UK Open, the 2006 Las Vegas Desert Classic, the 2006 World Matchplay, the 2006 World Darts Trophy, the 2006 World Masters and the 2006 World Grand Prix and the highest placed non qualified player in the WDF world Rankings qualified for the 2007 Grand Slam of Darts. Also there, the highest placed non qualified player in the PDC Order of Merit received a one year place. This did not happen in the next two events but returned from the 2010 Grand Slam of Darts onwards. Also from there, the last two competitors of the years PDC World Youth Championship would get a one year place. The PDC World Youth Championship received a further one year place. In the first three Grand Slam of Darts, the highest placed non qualified player in the PDC North American Order of Merit received a one year place. The winners of the 2007 DPA Australian Open and the 2007 South African Open qualified for the 2007 Grand Slam of Darts. The runner up of the 2007 World Masters qualified for the 2008 Grand Slam of Darts. Also there, the player who accumulated the highest amount of prize money at the conclusion of the PDA William Cross Pro-Am and the winner of that years BDO Womens World Championship qualified (they were invited to the 2009 Grand Slam of Darts). The winner of the 2008 World Masters qualified for the 2009 Grand Slam of Darts. Also there, the winner of the Dart Players Australia Qualifier qualified. Also there, the winner of that years BDO Women's World Championship would only get a one year place. The last two competitors in the 2010 PDC Women's World Championship qualified for the 2010 Grand Slam of Darts.

New Qualification

After the Professional Darts Corporation bought out the British Darts Organisation, the Grand Slam of Darts is now restricted to the winners of the following WDF tournaments.

Group Stage

The Group stage will remain the same as in the first six Grand Slam of Darts. Eight groups of four players with each player playing three matches. A win will earn a player two points while a loss will earn a player zero points. In each group, the top two players will advance to the knockout stage while the bottom two players will be eliminated.

Legs

Throughout the Grand Slam of Darts, the group stage had the best of nine legs and the last sixteen had the best of nineteen legs. In the first two Grand Slam of Darts, the quarter finals had the best of nineteen legs but since the third Grand Slam of Darts, the quarter finals was increased to the best of thirty-one legs. In the first Grand Slam of Darts, the semi finals had the best of twenty-five legs but since the second Grand Slam of Darts, the semi finals was increased to the best of thirty-one legs. In the first two Grand Slam of Darts, the final had the best of thirty-five legs but since the third Grand Slam of Darts, the final had the best of thirty-one legs.

New Legs

The Group Stage will still have the best of nine legs (as used in all Grand Slam of Darts). The last sixteen will still have the best of nineteen legs (as used in all Grand Slam of Darts). The quarter finals will be the best of twenty five legs (not used in past Grand Slam of Darts). The semi finals will be the best of thirty one legs (as used since the second Grand Slam of Darts). And the final will be the best of thirty five legs (as used in the first Grand Slam of Darts).

Venue

The first seven Grand Slam of Darts were held at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall in England. Now it is held in any venue, in any city, in any country.
