History

edit

Witch’s Mark started off as 5 eager Pagan’s out of Ft. Lauderdale Florida who were looking to put together a small acoustical setup, which consisted of 4 Tribal Drummers and a singer. This lasted about 4 sessions, and Mannun having an itch for more energy grabbed Thelema and began putting together a 5-piece band in a humble little studio in his house. Witch’s Mark consisted of Denise Frederick (Vocalist), Billy Scheets (Guitar), Zack Burns (Drums), Rebecca Knowles (Keyboards) and Randy Good (Bass). It wasn’t long before Witch’s Mark has begun, and the original idea was to be a Pagan cover band, playing all of the Pagan based cover tunes they could scrounge up. Six months down the road with 40 cover songs on their set list, they performed their first gig for about 50 people at a Yule festival in Davie Florida. In their search for Pagan based music to cover for the masses, Mannun began to realize that there was very few Pagan Rock bands on the market in America. The majority of what was discovered was either Bardic/Renaissance style at one end of the spectrum, and its extreme opposite very aggressive Metal genre at the other end. Mannun decided it was time to create their own Pagan Rock and Witch’s Mark began its Original Pagan Rock journey. The Gods had forged the core life force of Witch’s Mark and they spent the next few years playing multiple Pagan festivals throughout North and South Florida. In 2008 Witch’s Mark produced and released their first album called Stone Soup, which consisted of 9 songs. Keeping true to their original plan of writing songs about the Gods & Goddesses, Ritual & the Mysteries and wonderments of the many Pagan Religions and Lifestyles, Witch’s Mark began winning the ears and hearts of Pagans Worldwide. Unfortunately, in 2008 Dylan the Bassist had to leave Witch’s Mark do to circumstances beyond anyone’s control. Witch’s Mark quickly put out feelers for a new Bassist. Finally, someone fit the bill to fill the void, the only problem was that he was a Lead Guitarist. Mannun realized the potential of this new sound and energy that would be adding to the bands Magick, and decided to fill the bassist position himself and make room for the new guitarist, Bill Cruz (Monad). Needless to say differences arose and Monad left Witch’s Mark and journeyed down another path, this left Witch’s Mark on the hunt for another guitar player. After dozens of auditions and hours of pros & cons, Arthur Bradbury (Twyg) arose from the aftermath hands down victorious. In early 2012, Rowan and Axium decided it was time for them to make a major Life/Career change and relocated from the South Florida, therefore parting ways with Witch’s Mark. Once again the search was on for this time a Lead Vocalist and a Drummer. After auditioning many Vocalists, longtime fan and professional Singer/Songwriter, Karina “Skye” Barros stepped up to the plate and knocked it out of the park. As time went on a few drummers were auditioned, but none seem to fit the bill. Drums were created electronically for the time being, and ultimately the percussions began to be tweaked and perfected until the decision was made to move forward using Electronic Drums rather than keep wasting time searching for a drummer that wasn’t seeming to be provided. Quickly it was realized that there was many limitations to this solution, so Artist/Musician, Dave Lovisek(Shadow) took over the controls allowing Witch’s Mark to once again create Musick and bring their special Magick to Pagans and Fans around the world.
