Dubbed by Swaziland's major poetry stage, Rooted Soulz, as 'master of the game's kasi inspired word play', Maratis Moses is a Mbabane based, professional and passionate poet/spoken word artist. He calls himself a copywriter which talks like a poem and prioritizes on educational, inspirational yet sensitive subject matter. He is known around the kingdom for his sound and and well articulated poetry that pocesses a theatrical prowess of visual lyricism, rhythimic short words with an urban edge mainly in English, Taal and Siswati. Maratis Moses' passion for the environment and poertry is equal. He has an agile eagle eye on the serenity of nature and interesting insights of its spirituality and has a way of rendering a well produced and pedagogically-oriented poetry that sells.
His poetry does not only remain accurate for skills to master but has adequate knowledge people can adapt to and make practical change. Having had an abstract upbringing Maratis Moses breathes a philosophy of speed using well planned poetry perfomance arts and music as an innovative, creative and cost effective tool to enhance maximum thought harvest for social growth by implementing a culture of research and creative thinking for those living below the line of self-actualization. Maratis Moses is of no higher level academics, but has adopted the idea of self education; with spirit science and financial education making his favorite scopes, and uses his gift and leadership skills to change his world of the victimized
His love for poerty has lived since Genesis, as a young boy he would read enough to infiltrate his, being nerdy; they say he was once a nerd. Until scholastic life had happened in 2013, he found himself at the, now called Vulemasango High School, Malkerns Industrial School, the youngest wing of His Majesty's Correctional Services, a then library less school. The poetry obsession had to continue, hence composing was the gateway. A major part part of the scholars and those in conflict with the law and the set up of the school was an automatic self introspection in the sense of conversation being the lone source of knowledge and living two years with the inward self. With a school beginning almost everything it did, he was its first head prefect (apparently none was good to succed him the next two academic classes), this is the time was torn apart as being an ear/mouthpiece and mediator of hundreds of bulls in one kraal and the staff and a timeless gene of responsibility has lived in him since.
Still in Malkerns, having started writing, with neither mentor, another poet (besides one boy, he had to be 10 years, whom he was asked to mentor) nor research materials, his craft met originality. Maratis Moses used rehabilitation process (there really wasn't any) to analyze toxic lifestyles and survive what they call 'the university of life'. Straight out of Juvenine, Maratis Moses, graces a professional stage atleast once a month since March 2015, and has has perfomances ranging from 4-star hotels/cafes universities, theatre, parks to prison. He has mastered the art of mutual understanding with a wide audience variation as security chiefs, 98% whites, general public, children and students make a content following. Maratis Moses has grown so fast that has already rubbed shoulders with the Kingdom's seasoned poets and musicians and had guitarist and former Marimba band member Jose impressed during a Simphiwe Dana inspired perfomance at e Dish Cafe, durin the Friday Night Live. For a dreamer who wakes up to 'a 24 hours of limitless possibilities' it is limiting to list what is next.
