Matthew is a Technical Creative Director at Wieden + Kennedy London.

Before the summer of 2007, Matthew was co-founder and technical director for the international digital agency de-construct, when he left to persue other projects. His career started in 1995 working for a design agency in interactive and digital media, developing Director based applications and online properties, and then freelance for a number of companies both in London and around the UK, notably EMI Records and the BBC. During university, Matthew moved to London for a placement year at digital agency Deepend, and stayed working full-time at the agency for his final year, after which he graduated with First Class Honours.

After Deepend's liquidation in September 2001, Matthew went on to found digital agency de-construct with six other ex-deepend staff members. Over his career, Matthew has worked on projects for clients such as LondonElects, BBC, adidas, Panasonic Europe, Smirnoff, Cartoon Network, Ladbrokes, Telewest, Supernoodles, FCUK, Lucky Voice and many others. The role at de-construct combined team management, strategy, gathering business and user requirements, technical creative R&D and architecture, and technical account direction. He also spent a great deal of time working with both client and internal teams helping them understand technology, and how to make the most of digital and interactive.

Being a founding partner of de-construct, he played a critical part in the setting up, running and strategy of the business for the past seven years, as well as creative and project management input on many successful projects.

Outside of work, Matthew enjoys coding in his spare time, watching films, eating food and reading when he can. He is currently working on The Disposable Memory Project as well as curating The Visual Dictionary - a collection of photographic imagery of words and hyperconsequence, currently in beta.

For a minimum of 20% of his week, Matthew works on non commercial projects, as head of technology for the Childs's i Foundation, who are building a babies home in Uganda, and digital insight and consultancy to a number of other non-profits.
