Robert Ardito (born 28 November 1968) is an Australian practitioner and teacher of Wing Chun kung fu and founder of the 'Shiu Lung Wing Chun Kung Fu Academy'. He had been training under his grandmaster, Jim Fung.[2] Robert also currently holds the Guinness World Record for most full contact punch strikes in one minute. Rober is accredited as a Master of Wing Chun kung fu by the World Organiser of Martial Arts.

Early life

Robert Ardito was born on November 28, 1968 at Mona Vale, New South Wales, Australia. From the age of 6 Robert learned various martial arts including Boxing, Karate, Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido. When Robert was in his late teens he came across the art of Wing Chun Kung Fu. During the 1990's, Robert was taught by a man from Hong Kong who trained in Wing Chun Kung Fu under the late Grandmaster Yip Man. Robert later was trained by Master Jim Fung[3] and by various Kung Fu Masters such as Chu Shong-Tin.[4]

Personnal Life

In December 2001 Robert Ardito had been diagnosed with two types of cancer Melanoma and SCC Throat cancer. After this, Robert opened his affiliated martial art school in 2003.

Robert then launched a new company as director of NBKFT, The Northern Beaches Kung Fu Tournaments. With the intended goal to create a Kung Fu tournament based competition where all Kung Fu styles can participate, compete and promote Kung Fu.

Robert Ardito raises money for QIMR (Queensland Institute of Medical Research for Cancer) through his seminars and demonstrations.

Career

Robert Studied Traditional Wing Chun Kung Fu based on Sifu Jim Fung's principles derived from the Sifu Yip Man Lineage. Robert was also trained by various masters based on the Wing Chun system. Robert currently is the owner of the Shiu Lung Wing Chun Kung Fu Academy where he frequently teaches at.

Robert has dedicated many decades in evolving, where he is said to have been developing and strengthening areas of the Wing Chun System which he claims to have openings against attacks by other forms of modern day martial arts.

Robert studied Traditional Wing Chun Kung Fu with the Late Master Jim Fung who was of Yip Man Lineage and Weapon trained as a closed door student by Master Richard Wong, and Chu Shong-Tin.

During his career as a martial artist; Robert had met and trained with various Kung Fu Masters including Shaolin Grand master; Shi De Yang.

In 2013 Robert began the Kung Fu Seminars bringing Masters of Kung Fu and their students together by means of seminars and Demonstrations. During this time Robert Ardito became an accredited and certified master of the evolved Wing Chun Kung Fu system.

Achievements

Robert Ardito was a Private student of George Bracken Welter, an Australian boxing Champion in 1955.

During his Career as a Martial Artist; Robert Ardito acquired numerous Guinness World Records in the field of speed punching. Robert Ardito is currently the holder of the most full-contact Martial Art Punches in one minute according the Guinness World Records Committee and the International Wing Chun Academy.[5]

• Guinness World Record Certificate 2009 - 805 punches per minute (Current) (Also certified by Chu Shong-Tin, the late Jim Fung)

Robert has been recognized, accredited and certified by WOMA USA/Australia(World Organizer of Martial Arts)[6] as a Master/Sifu of Kung Fu for what is considered as an evolved, refined and practical form of the Wing Chun Kung Fu system.

Robert is also qualified in The Art of Executive Protection in 2009

Martial Arts History

The Wing Chun Kung Fu lineage can be traced back 300 years to the founder of Wing Chun Ng Mui. Robert Ardito has 35 years experience in multiple martial arts with over 25 years experience in Wing Chun Kung Fu.

Wing Chun - Evolved

Robert revised the traditional Wing Chun system, adding more counters and force vectors in his practical application drills to make his evolved Wing Chun System which is claimed to be an effective method against street fighting, sparring competitions, holds and strong locks trained by other modern day martial arts.
