Goals edit
As you may have read on my userpage, I'm a member of the Trivia Cleanup Project. I think this is a good project with a solid goal, and, since this was always something that really bugged me, I decided to jump at the chance to clean up WikiPedia for everyone. Please note, that I don't believe trivia/pop-culture references should be banished entirely from WikiPedia. That being said, I do believe that long pointless lists about which certain character in an obscure animated series once briefly mentioned the topic of the article are not only wasteful of space, they serve no purpose to the article.
Methods edit
Basically, I just use WikiPedia as normal, but when I run across a page with a particularly gruesome trivia section, I mark it with a {{trivia}} template, and then add it to my list below. Then, I make mention of it on the talk page and give it a period of time for discussion before I make the edits.
