Top Farmers Awarded by Meatco
editMeatco is in a good financial year compared to last years. It has enough funds to award farmers and pay more for the farmer’s efforts in the recent year. Meatco chairperson of directors Bohitile, on the event said that in comparison with last year's record, they are improved in their financial position. They pay more to the farmer’s cattle, plus they earn high profit which is enough for the following years growth. [1]
She also stated that their financial position is strong regardless of the bad exchange rate to date. In comparison to 2005 cattle numbers, she said that they would earn more to the current production price rate. Raul Feunters Milani, the European Union in Namibia's head of delegation said that Namibia cannot market to European Union because they did not meet the required standard of tones yearly, plus the capacity at which the abattoirs are operating are not sufficient enough. The value of N$ 300 000 prizes were rewarded to farmers nationwide for high value meat provided to the meat company. Various achievements on cattle production were rewarded, 2011 top 10 producers, top 3 best producers and the best producer of the year. [2]
