Chip16 is an interpreted programming language which is developed as an online collaboration[1]. The project was started in September 2010 as an clean-slate, consistent and monolithic alternative to Chip8, to enable novice emulator authors to step more easily into emulation.

Chip16 was designed to be simple, and relatively basic in its feature set, while still providing a better experience than Chip8.
