Panic attacks are a physical response to a sudden anxiety surge. The symptoms are considered as "triggers" because they could appear at any moment. The most common of these symptoms are high heart rate, dizziness or light headed and shaking. Sometimes patients mistake these symptoms as symptoms of a heart attack.

They're two types of panic attacks: Nocturnal panic attacks and daytime panic attacks. Daytime panic attacks are the ones that are triggered because of a situation during the day, while nocturnal panic attacks are triggered because of a dream. Nocturnal panic attacks are associated with respiratory disorders, like sleep apnea. These type of symptom can cause the patient more likely to have depression disorders, respiratory disorder or sleeping disorders. Even though these attacks occur only ten minutes they are harder to recover from.
