Otjiwarongo Secondary School known as 'the school of exellence' is rated as one of the best schools in Namibia(academic wise), with many students reaching overall top for grade ten and twelve examinations. Many of the graduates from Otjiwarongo Secondary School gain admission to the best universities abroad and locally as well.

Academics

Otjiwarongo Secondary School made history in Otjozondjupa region as well as the entire country in 2008 when the school had a 100% pass rate for grade 10. In 2009 the school also performed extremely well for both grade 11 and 12. For the grade 12 examinations higher level subjects the school finished third in the country and 9th for ordinary level examinations according to [New Era]. That same year the grade 10's took postion 16th in the country. The best performers in the year 2009 for higher level subjects were Janine Else as second in the country, and Martina Brockman who was top fourth position. The hard work and discipline put in by learners and the dedication by the teachers make this school a success.

Sports

Not only has the school of excellence excelled academically but also has the likes of Jesse Urikop who is currently a grade 12 learner at the high school. He was awarded as the Junior Sports person of the year 2010. The school has achieved tremendous success in sports over the years and continue to grow to greater heights.
