Dodder

edit

Dodder has a couple of meanings. It is a parasitic plant (Cuscuta) of which there are more than 150 varieties, most found in the Americas.[1] Dodder is also a verb used for someone who trembles and shakes especially when elderly and especially when walking.[2] Perhaps the connection between the two uses is how the plant must cling to something steady to stand, coiling its tender, twining stem around a host plant.[1]

Prügelkrapfen

edit

Prügelkrapfen is the Austrian equivalent of Baumkuchen, a type of spit pastry made in Salzwedel and Dresden, Germany.
