Amy Pence-Brown is a body image activist who supports self love. She went to University of St. Thomas, where she got her masters degree in Art History[1]. After schooling, she moved to Boise, Idaho with her three kids, Lucy Alice and Arlo and her husband Eric Brown. [2] Pence-Brown works as an architectural historian where she does a lot of research to educate people on Idaho's environment.[1] She also serves the children in her community as a school Garden Coordinator for Hawthorne Elementary School.[1] Along with that, she does a lot of public speaking on body-image at many schools. [1] Pence- Brown's message has reached many people through social media. These include CNN, USA Today, Cosmopolitan, People, TODAY, Huffington Post, Upworthy, HLN, the Dr. Oz show, SHAPE, xo Jane, and Fitness magazine. [3]

On March 9th, 2017 Amy was honored as Top 50 Women of the Year, Idaho Business Review.[4]

The Stand For Self Love: edit

On August 29th, 2015 Pence-Brown stood at the Capital City Public Market in Boise, Idaho.[7] Stripping down in nothing but a black bikini, Pence-Brown held a sign below her which wrote "I’m standing for anyone who has struggled with a self-esteem issue like me, because all bodies are valuable. To support self-acceptance, draw a heart on my body."[7] This social experiment lasted for an hour and had a positive outcome. Many people drew hearts and wrote positive words on her body. [7]

Boise Rad Fat Collective: edit

On August 22, 2013 Pence-Brown started the Boise Rad Fat collective. This is a facebook group that meets online and in person. This group aimed to help support the members self-esteem. [8]
