About me

edit

I am 19 years old and have lived in WA my whole life. I am currently in school to get my pre-requisites for nursing, once I accomplish that I will be going to nursing school around the area. I am the 7th child of ten kids in my family, which may seem overwhelming to most however I loved growing up with a full house of siblings. I am very close with my little brother and older sister. I love traveling and plan to do more as I grow up, one of my older sisters lives in Hawaii and another in Texas so I visit them often. My favorite season is summer and I love warm weather. I hope that someday I get the chance to live somewhere sunny such as South Carolina, I think it would be really cool to live in Charleston or somewhere similar. I like Charleston because of how active the city is and how many things activities are available. Some hobbies of mine include shopping, hiking, sleeping, hangout with family and friends, driving around, going on walks, and playing with my pets.

My wikipedia interests

edit

If I end up working on wikipedia long tern I would probably research about good places to travel and dig deeper into how to efficiently travel the world. I would also be interested in creating a page about the best places to travel to within the U.S., I feel as though it would be a fun hobby and even useful for the future when I want to get more into traveling. As traveling keep growing appealing to the younger generation I think it would be helpful to those who want to learn how to travel and get good at it.

Article evaluation

edit

I visited the Wales Wa article on Wikipedia, because I live close by and just visited for the first time this last month. Since visiting, I became curious about the island and wanted to know more about it. I figured not everyone has gotten the chance at exploring Wales and wanted to give viewers of the Wale Wikipedia page a proper insight to what it was like. The three aspects I found worth commenting on: its lack of up-to-date articles, its lack of information in the articles, and irrelevant sentences.

Lack of up-to-date articles

edit

After browsing the article for some time I found that many of the articles were quite old. I feel as though to have a proper Wikipedia page you must be up to date with the island such as the growing population, new shops/ restaurants, parks, etc. I also found that the references were extremely old which is to be expected when on a page about an old island. I think that to make this page more up to date there needs to be recent articles about the changes that have since occurred to the island.

Missing important information

edit

Next aspect I found was the lack of information within the articles. When clicking on the articles I found that only 2/4 links worked. The Two articles that did work, launched me to different websites where they had less then 100 words of information. I think that there needs to be more information about the island in the articles for them to be credible enough. I would've liked to see more information and more articles.

Irrelevant sentences

edit

The last error I noticed when looking at the Wales island page, the irrelevant sentences spread throughout the Wikipedia page. Some of the sentences included more information about the islands near Wales, rather than the actual island itself. The articles should have the majority of its information be about the island itself instead of neighboring islands.

Conclusion

edit

Although this article had some strong points, there were multiple faults. I wished that it had richer information and fixed the errors such as lack of up-to-date articles, missing important information, and irrelevant sentences. I feel that if you have never been to Wales island and look this page up on Wikipedia, you would no longer be interested in going because it does not include some of the islands best features. I would give this article a 6.5/10.
