Design and symbolism edit

Flag of Bomi edit

Flag of Bomi County

The flag of Bomi County is a purple banner defaced with a roundel on the centre-right side of the flag as well as the national flag in the canton. The roundel depicts a light-blue sky in the background and brown earth in the foreground, with five green trees above it.[1] The brown hill represents the iron ore of the region, while the trees symbolize the fertility of the soil.[2]

Flag of Bong edit

Flag of Bong County

The flag of Bong county is an orange banner defaced by magenta-purple mountains in the bottom half, spanning the full length of the flag. In the upper-right section of the fly is a white shield containing two tools. The orange and purple together symbolize the dawn of a new country, while the white symbolizes purity, and the tools represent iron mining.[3]

Flag of Gbarpolu edit

Flag of Gbarpolu County

The flag of Gbarpolu is officially a gold banner with a cut diamond in the center, symbolizing the richness of Gbarpolu's resources. The flag is flanked by a human-shaped tree in the lower-right corner.[4]

Flag of Grand Bassa edit

Flag of Grand Bassa County

The flag of Grand Bassa County consists of a dark blue (officially royal blue) base, the national flag in the canton, and four stripes of alternating red and white in the lower fly. The dark blue color symbolizes loyalty, and the four red and white stripes symbolize the four men from Grand Bassa (known as the Grand Bassa Delegation) who were the signatories of Liberia's Declaration of Independence.[5][6]
