Rodolfo Otero was born on 21 December 1949 in Buenos Aires, where follows living The elder of three brothers, cursó the primary and the secondary in the School of Salvador, except intervals in Villa Mercedes, and in Montevideo. It is lawyer, but left the profession to devote to his three passions: the literature, the cinema and the teaching. It made courses on educational technology and institutional design.

Has published the novels Mile Loncó (Prize Robin Hood 1983), The Travesía (Accésit to the Reward Guide 1983), The Summer of the Foal, The Secret of the Torreón Black, One of Two, A Very Space Trip, The Way of Saint Faith, Estrella Peregrina, that was translated to the Italian and incluída in the list “White Ravens” of the best childish books international of 1999, The Secret of the Elephants, The Paleolocos and The Sign of Sol. His tale The Colour that Was missing appeared in the book Piolín of Barrilete, of several authors.
It won two contests of scripts with the original versions of The Travesía and The Summer of the Foal, that was carried to the cinema with Héctor Alterio and Chinese Zorrilla.
It has directed short films and videos educational, and organised workshops of cinema in several primary schools and secondary schools. It was sworn in international festivals of cinema for boys.
At present it is to charge of chairs of script in the University of the Cinema and the University of Belgrano; history of the cinema of animation in the University of the Cinema; and history of the cinema in the Professional School of Cinematography of Eliseo Subiela; and it drives a course-workshop of history of the cinema in the National School of Buenos Aires.`
Actuality edit
At present it visits schools of Good airs together with a companion of his publisher salim editions and this in process of publication his new novel "The club of the barefoot readers"(without clear-cut publisher).
