I've listed myself at Wikipedia:Administrators open to recall, because I believe that the admins should be accountable to the Wikipedia community. However, the admins often need to make controversial decisions (such as deletions or blocks) that cannot please everybody. So, if you want me to step down voluntarily in the case of a dispute, and to stand for re-confirmation of adminship, here is the minimum criteria for the recall process to begin:
- The process can be started upon the request of at least five users, each with at least 500 mainspace edits and an account that is more than a month old. I may even consider requests from editors, who do not meet this criteria, if I find the complaint to be valid. The requests from sockpuppets, and obvious trolls or vandals won't be considered.
- To initiate the process, you need to drop a note on my talk page, expressing your intent. Obviously, you'll need to tell me why I'm not fit for adminship, what you would have done in my place, and provide evidence for any allegations of misuse of admin privileges.
- I'll then request to be desysopped. I may file a new request for adminship.
Of course, if you don't like the above criteria, you're always free to resort to Requests for Comments on use of administrator privileges, or other dispute resoultion processes.
